What do you like about climbing?
I love the climbing lifestyle, I enjoy almost everything about climbing, whether it's the community of people, traveling, training and of course the time spent on the crags.
How did you get started climbing?
I got into climbing at the end of primary school when the PE teacher took us to a climbing wall during PE class. I immediately liked the climbing movement and I joined the climbing group HK Manín under the leadership of Juraj Kvasnica and Miša Pavlík. So my beginnings are connected with climbing groups, before that I didn't know that there was any climbing.
Other interests?
Apart from climbing, I like being in nature, travelling and outdoor activities in general.
Favourite climbing area ?
My heartland in Slovakia is Manín and Sulov, Krpcovo is definitely worth mentioning. Abroad it's Siurana and Ceuse.
The best achievements?
From the sport routes up will definitely be the climb of the Estado Critico route 9a in Siurana and the climb of the Blade runner 8c+ route in Sulov.From the mountain routes I remember climbing the Voie Petit 8b in Chamonix together with Franta Bulicka. Climbing the most difficult Tatra multi-length route Corona 8b+ And of course the last adventure in Karakoram, where we managed to climb the iconic Trango Tower.
Biggest climbing experience?
I don't think I can remember the greatest experience, I personally enjoy every little achievement and the feeling I get when I achieve something I've been training for.
Plans for the future?
The plan for the near future is to spend the winter in the Spanish regions of Siurana and Margelef. Alongside this, I will be training and studying at university.
Climbing in 100 years?
I hope that climbing will continue to grow in popularity and with that the climbing industry will grow, making it easier for many people to make a living climbing in different forms. In my opinion, our sport has a great potential to become a globally popular sport, thanks to the variety of disciplines and the fact that everyone can find their own thing in it.
